Control how much of the diary each user sees in the mobile app, and hide customer addresses until they start travelling.
Mobile settings let you decide what each user sees in their diary on the Commusoft mobile app. You can limit how many days of past and future appointments appear on their phone, and hide the customer's address until they tap Travel.
You set these in the office, on each user's profile in Commusoft. They're useful for keeping your team focused on upcoming work, making sure travel is recorded, and limiting access during a notice period.
Where to find mobile settings
Mobile settings are on their own tab in each user's profile.
âĄď¸ Click your Profile icon > Settings > Users > View > View (next to the user) > Mobile settings
Click your Profile icon in the top right corner and click Settings.
Under Users, click View next to Users to open your list of users.
Click View next to the user you want to change.
Click the Mobile settings tab.
Note: Mobile settings is a tab on the user's profile, not a section further down the page.
How to change a user's mobile settings
Open the user's Mobile settings tab.
From the Ability to view events in the past dropdown, choose how many days of diary history the user can see.
From the Ability to view events in the future dropdown, choose how many days of upcoming appointments the user can see.
Tick Hide address details if you want the customer's address hidden until the user taps Travel.
Click Save.
Note: Changes to the days shown take effect after the engineer fully closes and reopens the Commusoft app on their phone.
What each setting does
Ability to view events in the past: sets how many days back the user can see diary events in the app. Leave it as Please choose for no limit.
Ability to view events in the future: sets how many days ahead the user can see appointments in the app. Leave it as Please choose for no limit.
Hide address details: blurs the customer's address on the appointment until the user taps Travel. This means they record their travel before they can see where they're going.
A shorter diary view keeps your team focused on the work in front of them. A longer view gives them more flexibility, for example if they book their own events.
If someone is leaving your business and working a notice period, you can use these settings to limit what they can see. Read the article Managing Employee Offboarding & Access Control in Commusoft for the full offboarding steps.
Common questions
Why can't my engineer see appointments further ahead in the app?
If your engineer can't see appointments further ahead, check the Ability to view events in the future setting on their Mobile settings tab. If it's set to a small number of days, they'll only see appointments within that range, whichever diary view they choose in the app.
I've changed the days shown, but my engineer's app hasn't updated. Why?
If your engineer's app hasn't updated after you changed the days shown, ask them to fully close the Commusoft app and reopen it. The new settings take effect once the app has been closed and reopened.
I can't find mobile settings on the user's profile. Where are they?
Mobile settings are on a separate Mobile settings tab on the user's profile. Go to Settings > Users, click View next to Users, click View next to the user, then click the Mobile settings tab.
Can I hide the customer's address until my engineer starts travelling?
Yes, you can hide the customer's address until your engineer starts travelling. Tick Hide address details on their Mobile settings tab and click Save. The address stays blurred in the app until they tap Travel on the appointment.
Can I give a user unlimited access to their diary in the app?
