Can I manage more than one business in Commusoft?

How Commusoft handles company branding, contact details, and bank details, and what that means if you run more than one business.

A Commusoft account is built around a single business. Your branding, contact details, and financial settings are stored once at account level and applied everywhere, which is what keeps your documents consistent without you having to set them up again for every job, estimate, and invoice. If you run more than one trading business, it's worth understanding what that means before you set your account up.

What's shared across your account

Commusoft stores one set of company information and applies it everywhere. That covers:

  • Company details: One company name, address, phone number, and email address

  • Letterhead and footer: One letterhead and one footer, applied to the PDF documents Commusoft generates

  • Self service branding: One logo, favicon, and colour scheme across your customer-facing portals

  • Bank details: One set of bank details for the financial transactions and documents generated in your account

There's no way to hold a second set of any of these and switch between them per customer, per job, or per document.

What this means in practice

Because these settings sit at account level, changing one changes it everywhere at once. Two consequences are worth knowing about.

Updating your details updates them widely. Changing your address in Company details flows through to newly generated documents and to billing information across your account.

Image-based branding doesn't update itself. If your letterhead or footer is a full image, your address is part of that image, so you'll need to redesign and re-upload it.

Note: Proposals and custom forms are the exception to the letterhead rule. They generate their PDFs from their own document templates, so their branding is set separately.

If you run more than one business

There's no supported way to run two separate trading entities inside a single Commusoft account, so the practical question is usually whether the two businesses genuinely need separate branding and financials, or whether they can operate as one.

To talk that through, contact your Client Success Partner. Not sure who they are?
