A full image letterhead or footer gives you complete control over your branding. You design the image yourself, upload it once, and Commusoft places it at the top or bottom of every PDF document it generates. Getting the size right is the important part, because Commusoft places your image into a fixed space rather than resizing it to fit.
Image requirements
Your letterhead and footer images both need to meet the same specification.
Requirement | Value |
Dimensions | 2124 x 376 pixels |
File format | .jpg, .jpeg, or .png |
File size | 100kb recommended, 150kb maximum |
The dimensions also appear on the radio button in the settings screen, so you can check them without leaving the page.
Important: An image that isn't 2124 x 376 pixels will be stretched to fill the space and will look distorted.

Creating your image
Commusoft doesn't include an image editor, so you'll need to design your letterhead or footer in a separate tool. Free options include Pixlr and Canva. Both let you set a custom canvas size, so start a new design at 2124 x 376 pixels and build your header or footer inside it.
Once you're happy with the design, export it as a .jpg or .png and keep the file under 150kb.
Note: Pixlr and Canva are independent platforms and aren't affiliated with Commusoft.
Checking how your letterhead looks
The preview on the Create letterheads screen shows how your letterhead and footer will appear on your documents, so what you see there is what your customers get.
If you'd like to double check on a real document, open any PDF that Commusoft generates, such as an invoice, and look at the top and bottom of the page.
Common questions
What size should my letterhead image be?
What size should my letterhead image be?
Your letterhead image should be 2124 x 376 pixels, and the same size applies to your footer image.
Do the required dimensions change if I change my printer margins?
Do the required dimensions change if I change my printer margins?
No, the required dimensions don't change with your printer margins. A full letterhead or footer image is 2124 x 376 pixels whatever margin settings you choose.
What happens if my image isn't the right size?
What happens if my image isn't the right size?
Your image will be stretched to fill the space, which distorts it. Commusoft doesn't crop, pad, or resize your image to make it fit, so resize it in your design tool before uploading.
I uploaded my image a while ago. Do I need to re-upload it?
I uploaded my image a while ago. Do I need to re-upload it?
You don't have to do anything, and nothing about your documents changes on its own. If your existing image isn't 2124 x 376 pixels it will keep displaying stretched, exactly as it does now. Re-uploading at the correct size is the way to fix that.
Can I use a different image on different document types?
Can I use a different image on different document types?
No, you can't set a different image per document type. Your letterhead and footer apply to all the PDF documents Commusoft generates, other than proposals and custom forms, which use their own templates.
