How does Commusoft handle password reset requests and user access restoration?
Commusoft provides tools for managing user accounts, including password resets and access restoration. Below, we outline the processes and limitations associated with these functionalities.
Password Reset Requests
Commusoft cannot identify the specific individual who requested a password reset for an account. Password resets can be initiated in two ways:
From Within an Account: If a user is logged into their account and clicks the reset option, the action is initiated by that user.
From the Login Page: Anyone who enters the correct username on the login page can trigger a password reset email. This email is sent to the registered email address associated with the username.
It is important to note that Commusoft does not track or log the identity of the person initiating the reset.
User Access Restoration
Restoring or managing a user’s access to a Commusoft account is a self-service process that must be performed internally by your organization. Here are the steps to restore access:
Admin-Level Account Required: An active ‘Owner Manager’ or equivalent admin-level account is necessary to manage user profiles.
Re-Add the User Profile: Use the admin account to re-add the user profile in the system.
Verify Email Registration: Ensure the user’s email address is registered as an active user in the system.
Commusoft cannot override or reverse changes made by your internal administrators. All user administration tasks, including adding, removing, or restoring users, must be handled internally.
Commusoft's Limitations in Administrative Actions
Commusoft emphasizes self-service for user account management. This means that:
Password reset requests are automated and cannot be traced to a specific individual.
User access restoration and management require active admin-level accounts within your organization.
Commusoft does not intervene in administrative actions performed by your internal team.
By understanding these processes and limitations, organizations can effectively manage their Commusoft accounts and ensure smooth operations.
