Pre-Update Checklist
Clear Accounting Dashboard Logs:
Ensure there are no records under:
"Waiting to be sent"
"Processing"
"Failed"
Uninstall & Reinstall the Sage Interface
Uninstall the Sage Interface:
Open Windows Services and stop the SageInterface service.
Go to Control Panel via Windows Search.
Under "View by," select Large Icons > Click Programs and Features.
Select SageInterface > Click Uninstall twice > Click Close to complete.
Backup Your Sage Database:
Ensure a full backup of your Sage database is taken before proceeding.Reinstall the Sage Interface:
Go to Commusoft: Profile Icon > Integrations > View Dashboard > Quick Links > Download Sage Interface.
Locate the downloaded file on your PC/Server.
Right-click and Run as Administrator to install.
Initialise the Service
Open Services and Event Viewer on the Sage PC/Server.
The service may take around 15 minutes to initialise. Monitor the progress in Event Viewer under Windows Logs > Applications.
Verify the Commusoft Dashboard
Return to Commusoft and refresh the dashboard to check if records start sending.
Post-Installation Diligence
Conduct daily checks in Sage 50 for the next few days.
Ensure regular backups of Sage data.
Important Credentials to Confirm
During the update, verify and confirm the following:
Sage username and password (required)
Sage database location (required, path often ends in ACCDATA)
VAT settings:
VAT method (required)
20% VAT rate code
5% VAT rate code
0% VAT rate code
Domestic reverse 20% VAT rate code (for Sage 50 v27.1+)
Domestic reverse 5% VAT rate code (for Sage 50 v27.1+)
Additional Notes & System Configuration
Install the Sage interface only once on the main Sage PC/Server.
Admin privileges are required for installation.
Reverse VAT is supported for Sage v27.1 and above.
Antivirus Configuration:
Ensure antivirus software permits the SageInterface download.
