Xero applies an API limit of 5,000 records in a single day. This limit is set by Xero, not by Commusoft.
If you send more records than the limit allows, Commusoft stops sending once 5,000 records have been reached for the day. The remaining records are held in the accounting integration queue and are sent automatically as the limit restores. This repeats as many times as necessary until all records have been processed.
Important: Records held back by the API limit have not failed. You do not need to resend them, and they will not appear in the Failed section of your accounting dashboard.
You will get a notification letting you know when the limit has been reached and sending has paused.
Common questions
Do I need to resend records that were held back by the Xero API limit?
No, you do not need to resend records that were held back by the Xero API limit. They are queued rather than failed, and they send automatically as the limit restores.
Why has a record not reached Xero yet?
If more than 5,000 records have been sent in a single day, any remaining records are queued and will send automatically once the limit restores. If a record has genuinely failed for another reason, it will show in the Failed section of your accounting dashboard with the reason listed.
