The Sage Interface service runs in the background on the PC or server that handles your Sage integration. If your data isn’t syncing as expected, or if you’ve been asked to restart the service by a member of the support team, you can follow the steps in this article. Restarting the service is a quick way to resolve most issues and get the integration working again.
Common Error Message:
"It looks like we've not heard from your PC/Server in the last 24 hours. Your computer/service keeps in contact with us regularly to receive new information which then goes into Sage. As we've not heard from your PC/server in the last 24 hours nothing will have transferred. Please make sure your PC/server is on, connected to the internet and has the Sage interface installed."
This is usually because the service that runs our application has stopped or needs restarting. Here is a video on Managing the Sage services
How to restart the Sage 50 interface
Identify the Error:
You have received the above error message or a member of the support team has asked you to restart the interface.
Open Services on the Sage PC:
Click the Windows icon and use the Windows search bar to type "services", then click on "Services" from the search results.
This will open the Services window, displaying all the services running on your computer.
Locate Sage Interface Service:
In the Services window, scroll down the list until you find "Sage Interface Service".
Select it with a single click.
Check and Manage the Service Status
If the Status Column is Empty:
Click "Start" on the left panel.
The status column should now show "Running".
If the Status Column Shows "Running":
Click "Stop" on the left panel.
Wait for about 5 seconds until the status column shows empty.
Click "Start" on the left panel.
The status column should now show "Running".
Wait and Verify
Wait for approximately 15 minutes to allow the service to fully restart and synchronise.
Open the integration dashboard within Commusoft and check if the error message has been resolved.
Refresh the Page
If the error is still visible after 15 minutes, refresh the page.
Trigger the Process
If the error is no longer present, click "Send now" in the integration dashboard to reinitiate the data transfer process.

Once restarted the Sage Interface takes 10-15 mins to start, below are the check points it goes through in Event Viewer.
To view these events click the windows search bar in the bottom left and type in Event Viewer > Expand the Windows Logs Section > Click Application
