Assign custom field templates to objects
Updated over a month ago

To utilize custom field templates effectively, they must be assigned to an object in the system, which defines where the fields are displayed (e.g., when adding a new customer).

View Setting

➡️ Profile Icon > Settings > Global > Assign Custom Field Templates to Objects > View

Assigning Templates

The available objects are listed on the left. Selecting one reveals specific segments within that object. Use the search bars to locate specific segments quickly.

  1. Customer - Lists customer types, such as Private Customer.

  2. Work Address - Lists work addresses for each customer type.

A custom field template can be applied to all segments at once or to individual segments.

➡️ Add Custom Field Template

  1. Select Template from Drop-down

  2. Click Save

Once assigned, a will display on the segment, and the fields will appear on the relevant objects based on the template configuration.

If you cannot locate a template, verify that it is not in "Draft" status. Avoid assigning templates to both "Individual" and "All" segments to prevent duplication.

Cloning Assigned Templates

The Clone icon lets you duplicate templates and assign them to other segments.

➡️ Clone > Type Clone > Clone

Deleting a Template

➡️ Delete > Type delete > Delete

If the template has been used on a record, you can choose to either archive or delete it:

  • Delete

    • Removes all associated data from records.

    • The template becomes invisible.

    • This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

  • Archive

    • Retains all associated data on records, which remains editable.

    • The template no longer appears on new records but remains on existing ones.

What happens to objects assigned to an archived template?

Archived templates will display an "Archived" status next to their name. They will continue to function on currently assigned objects but cannot be assigned to additional objects/segments.
