Add vehicle tracker, delete vehicle tracker

This setting allows you to add, configure, and manage GPS vehicle trackers for your engineers. It helps monitor fleet activity and retain accurate driver history when transferring or removing trackers.

Record the IMEI number on the device prior to installing it in the vehicle.

Adding a vehicle tracker

  1. Profile icon > Settings > Users

  2. Click View next to the user you are assigning the vehicle tracker to.

  3. Quick links > Configure GPS device.

  4. Select Teltonika FMB001_Preconfigured from the dropdown.

  5. Select the IMEI number from the dropdown box which you are assigning to this user. The dropdown will be populated with the trackers assigned to your Commusoft account.

  6. Press 'Save'

    1. Once the tracker is configured, it will display on the map. This can take a few hours for the initial set-up and requires a trip to be completed in the vehicle.

Managing vehicle tracker

  • Configure GPS device: Used when adding a new device or deleting an existing one. This will remove all the data from reporting as it wipes the device.

  • Transfer GPS device: Used when transferring a device, retaining the driver history

Delete a tracker

You may need to assign a tracker to a different user, for example, if an employee has left. To move a tracker and delete the previous driver history:

➡️ Profile icon > Settings > Users > View (while device is configured) > Quick links > Configure GPS device

  1. Take a copy of the tracker details

  2. Click Delete to unassign the tracker and remove all data

  3. Reassign if needed by repeating the steps under “Adding a vehicle tracker”

Transfer a tracker

Use this when reassigning a tracker while retaining driver history:

➡️ Profile icon > Settings > Users > View > Quick links > Transfer GPS device

  1. Select the current user and tracker from the left-hand panel

  2. Choose the new user from the dropdown on the right

  3. Click Transfer to confirm

Trackers must be transferred before deleting a user to keep existing data.

GPS Vehicle Tracker Installation and User Configuration (O2)

Devices purchased before 2018 with O2 sim cards are no longer supported.

  1. Profile icon > Settings > Users

  2. Click 'View' next to the user you are assigning the vehicle tracker to.

  3. Quick links > Configure GPS device.

  4. Select 'Teltonika FMB001' from the dropdown.

  5. Complete the configuration by filling in the boxes on the 'Configure GPS device' screen.

  6. GPS device model: select the correct model from the dropdown.

    1. IMEI: found on the document we sent confirming delivery of the device(s) and on top of the device.​

    2. Mobile number of the tracker: found on the document we sent confirming delivery of the device(s).

    3. Network: Select O2 in the dropdown.​

  7. Press 'Save'
