Add a credit note to a customer

Learn how to add a credit note to a customer's profile or an invoice, ensuring accurate financial adjustments

Credit notes allow you to manage adjustments to invoices for customers. These can be added directly from a customer's profile or within an invoice for specific cases.

If an invoice has been passed to a work address, the credit note must be raised within the invoice itself.

➡️ Navigate to the customer's dashboard > Quick links > Invoices > Add new credit note

  1. Fill out the credit note form

    • Enter the required details, including a description for the credit note (e.g., "Labour reduction").

    • Edit the date of the credit note, if necessary.

  2. Choose breakdown type: Select whether the credit note will be broken down by category or into detailed line items.

  3. Save the credit note: Ensure you click Save to finalise and apply the credit note.

You can see the total debtors amount in the side panel, overlaid on the map for quick reference.
