Setting up the Integration
This step connects Commusoft to your Mailchimp account, allowing you to send data directly to your mailing lists.
Go to your Profile icon Click Integrations
Select Advertising and click add integration next to Mailchimp
In Mailchimp:
Go to your Profile icon > Account & billing > Extras > API keys
Click Create A Key
Name the key and Generate Key
Copy to Clipboard
Return to Commusoft and Paste the API Key
Exporting a Report to Mailchimp
Once connected, you can export customer or job data from Commusoft reports to populate your Mailchimp lists. If you're on a free Mailchimp plan, you are limited to 2,000 subscribers across all lists. The export will stop processing once this limit is reached unless you upgrade to a paid plan.
Go to Reporting > Customer/Jobs
Click Export
From the drop-down menu, choose Customer/Contact
Click Export to send the data to Mailchimp
You may need to apply filters to your Commusoft reports before exporting to Mailchimp to avoid sending unnecessary data.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I have more than 2,000 contacts?
If you're using Mailchimp’s free plan, exports will stop once you exceed the 2,000 subscriber limit. Upgrade to continue syncing.
Can I filter the contacts I send to Mailchimp?
Yes. Before exporting, you can apply filters to your Commusoft report to control which customers or jobs are included.
