Custom forms and MS word
Updated over 2 months ago

The integration of Microsoft Word (2016 or newer) with Commusoft’s form creation allows users to craft customized forms and certificates in Word for use in Commusoft. This provides additional flexibility in design and layout, facilitating a professional and tailored document presentation.

Requirements

  • File Size: Word documents must be under 32MB to upload.

  • Mobile Login: Enable "Login on mobile" under Company Settings > Users > View > Edit Login Details to access the integration.

  • Office 365 Online Limitation: Tags in headers or footers will not populate if using Office 365 Online; use Word Desktop 2016 or newer for this feature.

  • Sub-Asset Details: Currently, sub-asset details cannot be added to custom forms.

Steps to Install and Set Up the Commusoft Add-In in Microsoft Word

  1. Open Microsoft Word: Ensure it is version 2016 or newer.

  2. Get Add-Ins:

    • Go to the Insert menu in Word.

    • Select Get Add-Ins.

    • Search for “Commusoft” and download the extension.

  3. Login: Use your regular Commusoft credentials to access the system through the Word add-in.

Creating or Customizing Forms in Microsoft Word

  1. Access Your Form in Word:

    • If you’ve already created a form in Commusoft, it will be available in the dropdown within the Word add-in.

    • Select the form you’d like to edit; all pages and fields you created in Commusoft will be available for positioning within Word.

  2. Adding Fields:

    • Place fields within the document as needed by selecting them from the dropdown menu. This works similarly to tagging in Commusoft, letting you position each field exactly where required.

  3. Crafting the Form:

    • Use Word’s features to add styling, structure, and details, ensuring each field is positioned appropriately for ease of use.
